PYM Impact Day Belgium
Shaping a Sustainable Future

Thursday 28 September 2023
14:00 - 22:00 in Brussels

We are thrilled to present our 2nd Impact Day in Belgium on Thursday 28 September in Brussels.

This year’s event, " Shaping a Sustainable Future through Impact Investing", aims to address the challenges of our time and delves into the transformative power of financial capital and its crucial role in building a more sustainable world.

Together with renowned guest speakers, Sir Ronald Cohen, leading academic Professor Luc Van Liedekerke and polar explorer and climate journalist Bernice Notenboom, we will explore how impact investing empowers people to align their financial goals with their values and thereby create positive social and environmental change.

Our speakers

Sir Ronald Cohen

For two decades, Sir Ronald Cohen has been pioneering initiatives in driving impact investments. He has catalyzed a number of global efforts, each focused on driving private capital to serve social and environmental good. These efforts are leading the global impact investment movement towards an Impact Revolution.

Sir Ronald is President of the Global Steering Group for Impact Investment (GSG), The Portland Trust, and the recently-created International Foundation for Valuing Impacts (IFVI).

Sir Ronald will be joining us via a video connection to speak about the impact revolution

Bernice Notenboom

Over the course of 25 years, Bernice Notenboom, polar explorer, climate journalist and filmmaker has unravelled the complex climate narrative to bring clarity to the biggest challenge mankind is facing. There are no PowerPoints or magazine articles that come even close to having a personal experience with the things we are trying to protect.

Bernice was the first woman to have skied to the North and South Poles among other expeditions. She combines her thirst for adventure with scientific research and publishes books, films and articles, all with the purpose to help you navigate your own role and responsibility in stewarding our precious earth.

Bernice will be talking about the greatest threats to our planet and during dinner she'll share her personal story.

Luc Van Liedekerke

Professor Luc Van Liedekerke is a business ethicist and has led the European Organization of Business Ethicists for many years. Among other things, he is a professor of 'Ethics & Finance' at the University of Antwerp and is involved in several SDG implementation projects.

In addition, Luc is the co-inventor of the 'minimum standard for sustainable investment' to which all financial players in Belgium must adhere. This standard ultimately affects 60-70 billion euros of investments worldwide.

Luc will be giving us an introduction to the concept of impact investing.

Moreover, we are honoured to have several leading Belgian Impact funds join us to share their experiences and expertise. They will offer a deeper understanding of where and why they invest, their specific domains such as inclusion, regenerative agriculture, microfinance, health, and climate, and how they create positive change.

The impact funds

It will be an afternoon and evening filled with inspiring keynote speakers, thought-provoking discussions, networking opportunities, and connections with like-minded individuals who share the goal of shaping a sustainable future.

We extend a warm invitation to both new and experienced Belgian sustainable and impact investors, as well as professionals who are eager to learn and engage.
We kindly request professionals to be joined by at least two Belgian wealth owners to ensure a diverse and collaborative environment for fruitful discussions.

Join us at the 2nd PYM Impact Day Belgium as we collectively explore how impact investing can pave the way towards a more sustainable and prosperous future for all. Together, let's make a lasting impact!
