Monday, April 13th | Breakout: Systems, Equity, and Social Stability

Willemijn Verloop is a co-founder of Rubio Impact Ventures and a long-standing leader in social entrepreneurship and impact investing. She began her career by founding War Child Netherlands, which she built into an international organization providing psychosocial support to children in conflict zones.

Driven by a strong sense of justice and urgency, Willemijn has consistently worked at the intersection of societal challenges and systemic change. After her work in the non-profit sector, she founded Social Enterprise NL and later transitioned to venture capital with Rubio, where she invests in companies developing scalable solutions to social and environmental challenges.

At Rubio, she focuses on backing first movers — companies that drive innovation and can trigger broader system change through market mechanisms. She is a vocal advocate for moving beyond "doing no harm" towards actively creating positive impact through capital.

During the breakout session "Systems, Equity, and Social Stability," Willemijn Verloop joins fellow speakers to explore how investments can strengthen democratic resilience, reduce inequality, and contribute to more just and stable societies.
