Monday, April 13th |Breakout: Soil, mother of all Solutions
Maarten van Dam is a member of the management team at Pymwymic, the impact investing cooperative built around the principle Put Your Money Where Your Meaning Is. For the past ten years, he has focused on investor relations and business development within the community, helping connect private investors with opportunities to accelerate the transition to healthier, more sustainable food systems.
With more than 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur and investor, Maarten is driven by a practical mindset: turning ideas into action and supporting initiatives that create long-term impact.
Eight years ago, Maarten and his wife decided to quite literally put their money where their meaning is. Together with their three daughters, they developed their own farm in Leersum, where they experiment with and showcase nature-inclusive farming practices. His passion for agriculture also led him to serve on the boards of the Wilhelminapolder farming cooperative and the SBNL Nature Fund.
During the breakout session "Soil: Mother of All Solutions," Maarten van Dam joins Thekla Teunis (Grounded) to explore the central role of soil in creating resilient food systems. Drawing on both his work with investors and his own experience as a farmer, he shares insights into how regenerative agriculture can unlock solutions for climate, biodiversity, and food security.
