Femke Groothuis is the Founder and President of The Ex’tax Project, a think tank focused on the transformation of fiscal systems to create jobs and sustainable growth. The foundation creates practical tools that enhance understanding of the dynamics of a tax shift from labour to natural resource use and pollution.
Her latest study in cooperation with Deloitte, EY, KPMG Meijburg, PwC, Cambridge Econometrics and Trucost presents a fiscal strategy for an inclusive and circular economy in the European Union. (www.neweranewplan.com). This study demonstrates that a tax shift aligns fiscal systems with the Global Goals and EU policy targets.
Groothuis has advised the Dutch government on the tax review in 2015. Her work has been covered in several blogs on the Huffington Post (in cooperation with the B Team), amongst others. She is a frequent public speaker and TEDxUtrecht presenter.
Between 1999 and 2009 Groothuis was Investment Manager at Ex’tent Green Venture Capital, a pioneering impact investment fund.
