Laurien founded the social enterprise Tiny Miracles when she experienced that solving the root cause of poverty with donor capital only is not empowering or sustainable. People need to work and earn their own money. 

They now create great designs and jobs for hundreds of people,  pay them 2 x minimum wage, make products (not a typical NGO product) that consumers want to buy, and are willing to pay a price for, that enables people to Stay Out of poverty.
