Alex Houtart

Alex Houtart is an international expert in sustainable finance. He started his career as an attorney at law, before joining BNP Paribas Fortis where he held several executive positions in corporate finance and trade finance. In 2008, after the financial crisis, he turned his expertise to sustainable finance, creating the bank's first responsible investment department. In 2015, Alex founded his own impact investing company and participated in the think tanks for the financing of the Sustainable Development Goals and the COP21. 

He is a member of the board of several companies and associations such as Forum Ethibel and Edora, the renewable energy federation.

Alex Houtart is a lecturer in Sustainable and Innovative Finance (Executive Masters in Finance, ICHEC business school Brussels).
