Emilie de Gerlache
Emilie aspires to be an agent of change contributing to a more inclusive society.
Unconsciously, inclusion has since her early years been central in Emilie's life, because of the disability of her twin brother Adrien. After studying Business Management in Brussels, which led her to China and India along the way, she finished her studies in Spain with a Master's in Microfinance and financial inclusion.
Emilie's different professional experiences have driven her to have an impact on reducing inequalities (SDG n°10), providing a qualitative education (SDG n°4) and promoting decent work and economic growth (SDG n°8), as it all begins and ends with people. "Our lives are a collection of stories and encounters and to protect our people and planet, we need to collaborate, build partnerships, and initiate change for a better tomorrow. Today, more than yesterday and less than tomorrow, life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back to society."
Unconsciously, her pursuit of a more inclusive society has always propelled Emilie forward, and now, she is determined to consciously make choices that will further this cause to build bridges for social transformation.
That’s why she joined PYM Belgium in March 2O23 as Project Manager, to be inspired and inspire others to act and collaborate to create systems change and a more inclusive society.
