Investing in Women & Tech

It's our pleasure to invite you to our next Women's Wealth Matters, Investing in Women & Tech.

This event is for female wealth holders only. If you know women who are interested in giving meaning to their money, please forward this link. We would love to include them!

When: Tuesday 7 June 2022 from 16:00 till 18:00 CET (online)
Hosts: Alexandra Korijn and Liet van Beuningen

Even in 2022, women are still very under-represented in tech, not only  as founders and employees in the sector, but  also as investors. This has real ethical implications for the digital transformation era that we are currently in. How do we get more women involved and make a positive impact together?

During this gathering, you will learn first hand from inspirational women who are successfully navigating the world of investing in tech, empowering the women around them, and making a mark! They will discuss the digital transformation spurred by technologies such as AI, VR and the blockchain, and how an investor can make a positive impact in this domain. You will also get to hear from wonderful women in our community about their experiences with investing in technology.

Jolanda Degen, Darwin Invest

Jolanda Degen’s journey as an ‘early’ tech entrepreneur started in the late nineties. When she took over World Ticket Center, you had to physically go to the store to book a flight. When the internet subsequently took off, she was early to identify its opportunities. Even before customers were searching with Google and paying with iDeal, Jolanda was able to transform WTC into an internet company. Years of impressive organic growth followed, and after the merger with competitor Vliegtickets.nl, the company became the largest online travel agency in the Netherlands and Belgium. In 2016 Jolanda sold the company to private Equity. She then co-founded Darwin Invest and is now active as an impact investor and advisor.
